Security guards keep Russell Crowe from Oprah

Russell Crowe was set to appear on Oprah Winfrey’s show, which is being taped at the Sydney Opera House this week in Australia, but security guards didn’t recognize him and didn’t have him on their guest list. During filming, he told Winfrey, “I walked here and just went up to the gate, but the security guy wasn’t sure what to do. It wasn’t on his running sheet.” Winfrey chimed in with her best Aussie security guard impersonation: “There’s a guy out here who says he’s Russell Crowe.” The talk show host commented on how Australian men are “so good looking,” and asked Crowe, who’s called “Rusty” in the Australian press, what the difference is between Australian and American men. He joked, “Dental care.” Also appearing on the show were Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Olivia Newton-John and Terri, Bob and Bindi Irwin — the family of the late “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin. The Australian episodes will air in January.

Maybe he’s getting mellow in his old age.

He has gotten mellow! Even in his home country they don’t recognize the great Russell Crowe? You’d think that’d infuriate him and he’d throw a phone at someone or a croc.

bys noyt everyone will resort to violence. Its a shame on the security guard who didn’t recognize Mr. crowe and a fellow aussie at that. nope Mr. Crowe did the dignified thing and did it calmly.. good for him.

this world does not revolve around celebrities. i’m sure there a quantative percentage of people that does not watch movies and/or tv and have a fulfilling life. Probably more so than those that hunker down in front of the boobtube 8 hours a day.
