Shania Twain stalker freed

Dr. Giovanni Palumbo, 51, was released from jail after serving just over seven months in Toronto’s Don Jail for stalking Canadian country singer Shania Twain. He was placed on three years probation by  Judge Richard Schneider and ordered to stay half a kilometre away from Twain and her family. He’s also not allowed to visit Deerhurst Resort, which is close to the singer’s summer cottage. Palumbo was arrested last March after being spotted in the crowd at the Canada’s Walk of Fame awards ceremony Twain was attending in Toronto despite already having an order in place forbidding him from being within 500 yards of her. At the hearing, when a psychiatrist testified she found Palumbo to be suffering from bipolar disorder and narcissistic personality disorder, he interrupted, saying, “I’m not narcissistic, I agree you’re all superior to me.” He also bowed his head when the judge asked him if he wanted to say anything, responding in a quiet voice, “No.” His lawyer Gary Barnes said outside the court that jail time had beaten his client down, telling reporters, “It’s an awful place to be.”

    Hopefully he’s learned his lesson.

The world is full of kooks & there’ll always be another stalker of Shania to take that one’s place. That’s sadly why they need body guards.

Palumbo sounds like the perfect storm: bipolar, NPD, obsessive compulsive and intelligent. Will he take meds for the bipolar disorder now that he’s been released? As for the personality disorders, those are life-long character disorders. Bad combo. Let’s hope Shania holds the courts accountable for this decision.
