Shrek to get spinoff

There are two more Shrek movies scheduled before the franchise comes to an end, but that’s not the last we’ll hear of the characters—at least, not all of them. Puss ‘n’ Boots, who quickly became a fan favorite after being introduced in Shrek 2, will star in his own spin-off movie. DreamWorks animation head Jeffrey Katzenburg says, “He’s going to go off on his own and we’re going to do the Puss origin story.”
