Simon Cowell, 53, is not talking to media about the news that he is expecting a child with his real estate mogul friend’s wife. During a panel last night to promote The X Factor at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Beverly Hills, a reporter congratulated Simon on Lauren Silverman’s pregnancy, to which Simon cheekily responded: “I haven’t read the newspapers. Am I missing something? Sorry. Unfortunately, I have to keep this private for the moment.” After the press conference, Simon assured reporters that he’ll eventually speak about the pregnancy, saying, “I really have to be sensitive here because there are a lot of people’s feelings involved.” Meanwhile, his friend Andrew Silverman, 37, and wife Lauren, 36, have both released statements about the affair and pregnancy. “My top priority is protecting my 7-year-old son while working to resolve all outstanding issues with my wife,” said Andrew, who filed divorce papers in New York two weeks ago listing adultery, with Simon being named as a co-respondent in the papers, as the reason. Lauren, who is reportedly 10 weeks pregnant with Simon’s child, released a separate statement saying: “I am committed to sorting things out with Andrew as amicably as possible to ensure the well-being of our son.
