Simon Cowell “shocked” that Clay’s gay

When told by Extra TV that Season Two American Idol runner up Clay Aiken had admitted to being gay, Idol judge Simon Cowell commented dryly: “Wow, that’s a shock. It’s like being told Santa Claus isn’t real — unbelievable!” However, he added on a more serious note: “Good for him. If he said it, it’s the right thing for him,” and commented that he doesn’t believe it will have a negative affect on Clay’s career. “I don’t think anyone cares,” he said. “Let’s face it. It’s 2008. You know, who cares?” When asked if Aiken asked Cowell to be the godfather of his son, Simon replied, “No, I don’t know him well enough, and I think I’d be the last person on Earth he’d call.”

   Honestly, who with a pair of eyes and a brain wouldn`t have been able to deduce for themselves that Clay Aiken was gay? That would be like Ricky Martin or Siegfried and Roy coming out of the closet and admitting to being gay.It would just be covered on the news as ” and in other news…”

    Sounds like fun! I’ve already started my Christmas shopping but getting blasted & writing a letter to Santa sounds much more fun!!
