The Simpsons Movie is the new leader at the box office, with weekend receipts totaling $71.9 million (all figures US), making it the most successful opening of a TV series-turned-movie ever. I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry dropped to second place, taking in $19.1 million for a two-week total of $71.6 million. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix also dropped a spot, winding up in third with $17 million, making its domestic total to date $241.8 million. Hairspray went from third to fourth with $15.5 million, while the new comedy, No Reservations, opened in fifth place, rounding out the box office with $11.7 million. Lindsay Lohan’s I Know Who Killed Me wound up a disappointing ninth, taking in a paltry $3.4 million.
