Will Smith and Tom Cruise at Grauman’s Chinese TheatreTwo-time Oscar nominee and Grammy award winner Will Smith put his hands and feet into cement in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard yesterday. Hundreds of fans showed up for the ceremony, as well as Smith’s family and a special appearance by Tom Cruise.

Smith told the crowd: “It inspires me when I look around and I see all of you coming out here to support me and honor my family like this. It makes me feel like I’m not doing enough, it makes me feel like to have all of this I’ve got to change the world.”

    No, he’s not a scientologist.

Will Smith opened up this past weekend on 60 Minutes, and he was equally revealing with Access Hollywood, as he defended friend Tom Cruises passion for Scientology.

When I sit and I talk with Tom Cruise, he is one of the greatest spirits that Ive ever met someone who is committed to making the world better, Will said. You have people [that] are attacking and wanna fight that dont know nothing how you gonna not know nothing about Scientology and attack somebody? Its dangerous and its ignorant.”

How can I condemn someone for what they believe and I believe that God was born from a pregnant virgin? Will continued.

Tom may be a Wacko but Will still seems pretty grounded and what he says is so true – that it is dangerous. We have enough conflicts in the world today to know this is true.

who cares if Tom cruise was there?

Exactly – this was supposed to be about Will and his successes; not a photo-op for the sagging career of Tom Cruise.

Agreed! It is one thing to be there for your friend, but another to jump right in and steal the spotlight! And Will is so nice and kind hearted that he just smiles and doesn’t even think twice about it.
