Katherine Heigl and Terry O’QuinnThe Sopranos won Outstanding Drama at last night’s Emmy awards, while 30 Rock won for Outstanding Comedy series. Katherine Heigl won Supporting Actress for Grey’s Anatomy and admitted onstage that she hadn’t prepared a speech, explaining, “My own mother told me I didn’t have a shot in hell at winning tonight.” Lost’s Terry O’Quinn, who plays John Locke on the popular series, won Supporting Actor, saying “I think about my castmates and crewmates, and realize why I have the best job in the world.” Sally Field, who won Lead Actress in a Drama Series, went on an embarrassing tirade saying, “If mothers ruled the world, there would be no (word bleeped out) wars,” And America Ferrerra, who won a Golden Globe earlier this year for her leading role in Ugly Betty, picked up a matching Emmy. Now all she needs is an Oscar.
