Spears held for psychiatric assessment

Britney strapped to a gurney in ambulanceBritney Spears is being held on a 72-hour lockdown at Cedars Sinai Medical Center after locking herself and her youngest son in a room at her home and refusing to hand him over to her ex-husband, Kevin Federline. The court appointed monitor called police when the incident occurred at 7 p.m. Thursday night. It took officers several hours to get into room and according to People magazine, when they did get in, they found Britney disoriented and under the influence of an unknown substance. She also apparently hadn’t eaten or slept for days and was strapped to a gurney before being taken away by ambulance. Kevin Federline was in and out of court on Friday — it’s believed that he’ll be given full  physical custody of their two sons for the time being.

poor thing, she clearly has an underlining mental issue and needs serious help. i hope that she gets better and that she can gain some sort of normal life back.

She still stares at the camera. I notice she is in her barefeet. She was probably hoping the ambulance would make a pit stop at a Service Station washroom.
I still have a suspicion that publicity fuels these escapades.

Oh, come on!!! Dammit! She practically BEGS them to follow her and stuff, and you and I and everyone else knows it!! She gets them to pump gas for her, and hand her money in at the drive thru, etc. If she wants privacy, she is living in the wrong place!! That’s for damn sure!

The paparazzi are on this girl like flies on s***. The only thing we haven’t seen a picture of her doing is taking a crap. How do you think you’d like being under a microscope 24-7? Anybody know of a good igloo for her, because short of that these parasites will never leave her alone.

Also, if people would just stop buying those rag-mags there wouldn’t be a market out there for the so-called “money shots” of these celebrities.

Can we please stop caring about someone who was of little real significance to begin with. We, “the fans”, just create fantasies for our own gratification, the “stars” begin to belive our fantasies and then – this is the result. Why blame the paparazzi? Why not blame those that made her what she is – US!

I cannot imagine how I would react in any of the past circumstances we’ve seen her navigate,in the past 2 weeks even!
When I was in my early 20’s… gimme a break!
My middle name was Beer; and the women…
Let’s just say she should have stayed on birth control, dig?
I just wonder why everyone’s making such mountains out of mole hills, I mean really?!? So she locked herself in the bathroom! So what? How many keggers have we been to where someone’s locked in a room all drama? You just laugh and pour yourself another cocktail! Cops? Mental hold for 72 hours?
Meanwhile, others are getting a busy signal after dailing 911- not enough man power to handle the demand…
    Yeah, right.
Anyhoo, ya can’t feel sorry for her; she’s the douche who allowed them to put her in an institution in the first place! You can’t be committed against yer will!… or can you? Homeland security anyone?
    Enough.
    Riot out.

It’s hard enough to deal with the roller coaster ride of emotions, add on the availability of alcohol, drugs, and everyone knowing your business and putting expectations you’re not sure you can live up to can really make someone need a psychiatric assessment. It happens, let her deal with it. Yeah, it’s good in a way so she’ll know there are others out there that care, but honestly, she is the one that needs to care so why not let her get the help she needs. It’s none of my business what she’s dealing with emotionally/personally unless its in her “music” or her “art”.

Only difference the father is known for marrying a pop star and nothing else. He was the one person to introduce her to crack it only makes sense stupid kev she was soo fit.

oh, all of us can thank our lucky stars that we have hackneyed brainy psychologists like dr phil to come and rescue dear brittany before her next meltdown/overdose/treatment, itself of course that will fail also.

such as it can be seen, witness the fruit of the tree of poor parenting that develop children (to include her sister) who themselves become parents, devoid of any common sense, valueless and directionless, with ultimately purposeless existence. except to ambulance-chasers, paparazzi, and of course well paid counsellors like dr phil, who remove their fees.

the spiral will continue as long as the money lasts … but eventually she’ll just overdose to become this generation’s marilyn monroe, if not for a few minutes at least, till one with better silicone plugs comes along …

I really think you people whom are not mothers and do not know what it is like to be going through a divorce and custody battle, well you really don’t have a right to put her down its hard enough let alone all the 24/7 cameras in your face. And coping with the fact she has expectations that people expect her to live up to.
She needs a break. and moral support from people whom really care.
This lady is only young and is still learing just give her a break!!!!!!!!!!!

her kids need to be taken away from both of them
and make them dissapear somewhere where no one knows who they are or exist and where their mom or dad cant find them

John, get lost. She’s done this to herself. We follow ALL the stars, and they don’t all act like this. There are a lot of stars out there who have been quite successful keeping their private lives private. Britney could also have a private life, but she doesn’t WANT it, she wants to be in the spotlight, and will do whatever it takes to get there. Unfortunately it will probably end up costing her her life.
And “Just Me!”, you can get lost too, most of us are parents, and a very high percentage are going through divorce and custody battles right now, so yes, we DO know what it is like. The cameras are in Britney’s face 24/7 because SHE WANTS THEM THERE!!!

  20. Anonymous • January 9, 2008 @ 7:02 PM

    jeez what a shock.

  21. Anonymous • January 10, 2008 @ 12:02 AM

You’re shocked? S**t, I had to stick my finger in a socket to get that feeling. Judging by Brit’s hair in recent photos – so has she!!!
