Zendaya and Tom Holland in Spider-Man: Far From Home

Meanwhile, Jurassic World: Domino shuts down following positive COVID-19 tests

A photo posted by a fan on Reddit seems to confirm that the untitled Spider-Man sequel starring Tom Holland and Zendaya will begin filming on October 17 at 6 a.m. in New York City. The photo is of a sign, posted by the NYPD in Queens, to let neighbors know there will be no parking available that day for a 24 hour period.

Although the sign says that the project is called “Serenity Now,” the title refers to a Jerry Seinfeld phrase. Not using the real name on signs has been common for the franchise, with Spider-Man: Homecoming going by the name “Summer of George” and Spider-Man: Far From Home being “Fall of George.”

The fact that the production is beginning is good news for the movie industry, with many American films and TV shows on pause.

Meanwhile, several more tentpole films have had release date changes recently, including Jurassic World: Domino, which moved to June 10, 2022 from its original Summer 2021 release date. Yesterday, it was reported that production has shut down for two weeks due to multiple people involved with the production testing positive for the coronavirus.

The Batman moved to a new release date of March 4, 2022 after production was shut down when star Robert Pattinson contracted COVID-19.
