Steven Spielberg paid for Dakota Fanning’s Vegas birthday

Dakota FanningSteven Spielberg paid for Dakota Fanning to go to Las Vegas for her 21st birthday.

The 68-year-old filmmaker fulfilled a promise he made to the actress when they worked on the 2005 movie The War of the Worlds and footed the bill for the vacation she took with her family last weekend. Dakota reached the milestone age in February.

A source said: ”Steven Spielberg had promised Dakota he’d pay for her trip to Vegas for her 21st birthday! It was something he promised when they filmed War of the Worlds. Apparently they’ve kept in touch and he followed through with his promise.”

During the weekend visit with her family, Dakota went to watch America’s Got Talent winner Terry Fator’s show, “The VOICE of Entertainment” at The Mirage because she had been a big fan of the ventriloquist when he appeared on series two of the talent show.

The source told E! News: ”Dakota and her family were fans of Terry from America’s Got Talent and Dakota really wanted to see him.”

The blonde beauty had previously claimed she would probably ”stay home” on her birthday because she hadn’t made any plans.

Speaking in November, she said: ”I have no idea what to do. It’s been such a talked-about thing for so long, like, what are you gonna do for your birthday, that I think by the time it rolls around I’m just going to stay home with five friends and call it a day.”
