Susan Boyle in tears after U.S. performance

By Alexandra Heilbron on November 27, 2009 | 46 Comments

Susan Boyle performs in NYCSusan Boyle was literally mobbed by fans in New York’s Rockefeller Plaza earlier this week, where she’d arrived to promote her debut album I Dreamed A Dream. When given a handmade quilt created by hundreds of fans from 28 countries around the world, the Scottish singer bent her head to hide the tears rolling down her face. Speaking to Access Hollywood, her spokesperson said: “Susan was overjoyed and extremely touched by the gift she had just received and the reception she had from her fans in America.” Her debut CD sold 134,000 in its first day of release in the UK, and is expected to sell nearly 400,000 copies by the end of the week, which puts her on track for bestselling album of the year. ~Alexandra Heilbron

Susan’s story is almost like the story of Rudolph the red nosed reindeer. Because Rudolph was a little different than the others with his bright red nose, all the other reindeer laughed and called him names. Then Santa called upon him to lead his pack pulling the sleigh and then his red nose became a gift instead, lighting the way, being for all to admire instead of ridicule. Susan’s is very much like a Christmas type of story as well. People looked at her cover and laughed, but when they discovered her gift, she was the admiration of the world. A beautiful story. God bless Susan. So wonderful that she found her way. Cheers!!!

She makes every ordinary girl out there who can actually sing make them want to persue it. She’s fantastic. Besides, music is all about the sound, not the look. Susan is awesome! Love her!

    On Nov. 28:
You’re the greatest Susan. Was at the store early morning of Nov.23 and didn’t know if they would have it in Quebec. They did and we’ve been playing it non-stop ever since. What an angelic voice. We are very tearful but happy when listening. Good Luck and lots of love Susan. Hope you make it to Canada soon.

  40. Lorna • November 29, 2009 @ 2:06 AM

Awesome CD, Susan! Well done you! I play it in the car, while taking a bath and while cooking. Just about all the time, really.

I’m so glad YOUR “dream” is coming true. You deserve it. Your late Mother would be so proud.

Meanwhile I, like thousands of others, am waiting for your next release.

    No pressure, ok? 🙂

  46. Bridgette • December 2, 2009 @ 6:20 AM

Susan…your voice rockets me to heavens untold! God Bless you for the voice which has shattered me and brought me to my knees. I Bless God and the Universe for allowing me to experience you in this finite lifetime in which I have lived, breathed and experienced the voice which has reached in and beckoned my empty soul to once again, allow myself to feel.
When you sing, I am brought, with loving memories, to the joys of my childhood, which solely belong to my Mother. As a very young child, I wept with tears of joy, gratitude and happiness over that which I did not comprehend nor understand.
My Mother, penniless, always managed to perform the most amazing birthdays for me, creating lavish cakes after scraping together her pennies, pride and pop bottles in trade for a birthday cake for me.
This “Guardian Guided By Angels” protected me and my siblings from the Drunkard whom was my father.
Your voice forces my mind and emotions to recklessly ruminate and again experience the exquisite, tender heartfelt and angelic love of my Beloved Mother.
Thank you from the deepest recesses of my Soul.

    Love,
    As Always
    Bridgette
