Susan Boyle surprises intruder

Susan Boyle at her home in ScotlandSusan Boyle was entering her home in Scotland last night at about 9:45 p.m. when an intruder rushed past her through the open door. Boyle, 48, was returning from London, where she’d been recording her part for Simon Cowell’s charity version of REM’s Everybody Hurts, to raise money for the Haiti relief fund. Boyle’s rep released a statement this morning that read: “Last night, Susan returned home with a friend and found an intruder in her house. She was shocked but unharmed.” Boyle lives in the humble residence that she lived in before she became famous on Britain’s Got Talent. The intruder was described by Boyle as a juvenile male, 14 to 16 years old, about 5’4″, and wearing dark clothing. ~Alexandra Heilbron

    Luckily she wasn’t harmed.

I worry about Susan and wish she lived in a more secure location. Can’t wait for another CD because I never stop playing I dreamed a dream. Lots of love to Susan – and Simon.

That must have been pretty scary for her. I wonder what he was doing there? She’s lived a pretty modest life up until this past year, I highly doubt she has a bunch of money or anything like that stashed away in the house.

i agree with all of you. i wonder if she still feels safe in her home?

Mandee: I read today that she refuses to be driven out of her home but that Simon Cowell has hired people to watch out for her as someone attempted to break into her home while she was there, back in December and she feels this might be the same person. Her brother also fears for her safety from obsessed fans. So, she seems pretty adamant about not moving from her family home and I don’t really blame her as she is that down to earth. Maybe just increasing security within her home would be sufficient, ie: new locks and windows, alarm and a good guard dog would be a great start.

No problem. I’ve always found Simon to be very caring, he just has a hard exterior and tells it the way it is…he’s my twin, I swear he is.

He seems to really care for the underdog, I think deep down he is a really decent guy. Brutally honest, but decent.
