Taylor Swift: Mistakes made ‘my greatest career triumphs’

International superstar Taylor Swift, 24, has been dominating the music news lately after receiving the first ever Dick Clark Award of Excellence at the American Music Awards and for the success of her most recent album 1989, which had the largest album sales week since 2002 and made Taylor the first artist to sell one million copies of an album this year. However, the “Shake It Off” singer, who is ranked third on Forbes list of the highest-earning celebrities under 30 with $64 million between June 2013 to June 2014, hasn’t always had an easy time in the media. In the past Taylor’s professional work may have taken a backseat to her personal life as she received a reputation as a serial dater due to her supposed long list of famous ex-boyfriends, including Jake Gyllenhaal and One Direction’s Harry Styles.

However, Taylor recently told ASOS magazine for their upcoming January issue she wouldn’t change a thing about her journey. “As much as I would really like to have saved myself heartache, embarrassment or gossip, I also know that my biggest mistakes have turned into my best lessons and sometimes my greatest career triumphs,” she said, adding, “If my life had been turbulence free, no bumps in the road at all, maybe my music would be more beige.” In true Taylor fashion she brushed it off and took the high road and even penned her latest hit “Blank Space” based on how the media perceives her.
