Taylor Swift visits 10-year-old cancer patient

America’s sweetheart, Taylor Swift, granted a fan’s wish by paying a visit to Omaha’s Children’s Hospital & Medical Center to see Lauren Hacker, a 10-year-old cancer patient who suffers from acute myelocytic leukemia (AML). Her loved ones created a YouTube video singing a message to the melody of “You Belong With Me” (watch below) asking Taylor to visit “a girl from Omaha who needs her.” The video is titled, “Come See Lauren Please, Taylor!” Lauren scored some quality one-on-one time with Taylor and even played a song on an electronic keyboard she received for her birthday. Lauren’s father, Phil Hacker, wrote about his daughter’s experience on Lauren’s Caring Bridge blog. He mentioned that, “Taylor shared stories from her childhood as she was getting her start as an entertainer…Just before she had to leave, Taylor got out a bag of goodies for Lauren and provided autographs on notebooks, photographs and guitar picks…It was a great afternoon for everyone and I’m sure Lauren will remember it for many years to come.” Taylor kicks off her Red tour on Wednesday in Omaha. She will be performing in 47 North American cities, concluding her tour in Nashville on September 21. ~E. Guevarra
