Tenet continues to lead competition at weekend box office

Tenet posterAlthough Tenet slowed down at the box office during its fourth weekend in theaters, it still retained the top spot and has become the first movie to earn over $40 million at the box office since the COVID-19 lockdown. Check out who else made the list below.

Christopher Nolan‘s Tenet, starring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson, took in an additional $3.4 million at the weekend box office for a four-week total of $41.2 million.

The New Mutants retained second place for another weekend, earning an additional $1.1 million for a three-week total of $19.5 million at the domestic box office.

The revenge thriller Unhinged starring Russell Crowe went back up to third place in its seventh weekend, taking in another $1 million for a total domestic take of $17.2 million.

The re-issue of the 1980 film Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back resonated with today’s audiences, earning $0.9 million over the weekend.

Rounding out the top five was Infidel, a political thriller starring Jim Caviezel. It took in an additional $0.7 million for a total earnings of $2.7 million in its second weekend of release.  ~Alexandra Heilbron
