The Bad Guys fend off new competition at weekend box office

The Bad Guys top box officeThe animated movie The Bad Guys featuring the voice talent of Sam RockwellAnthony Ramos, Craig Robinson and Awkwafina stayed at the top of the box office this weekend, pulling in an additional take of $16.1 million for a two-week total of $44.4 million.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 starring Jim Carrey and James Marsden also retained its spot from last weekend, remaining in second place in its fourth weekend in theaters, earning an additional $11.4 million for a total of $160.9 million.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, dropped two places to third last week, but this time around it remained in that spot for its third weekend finish. It took in an extra $8.3 million for a total of $79.6 million.

The Northman, starring Alexander SkarsgårdEthan Hawke and Nicole Kidman, held onto the fourth spot for the second weekend in a row, earning an additional $6.3 million for a two-week total of $22.8 million.

Everything Everywhere All at Once rose back up to claim fifth place after dropping out of the top five to sixth place last weekend. It earned an additional $5.5 million this weekend for a six-week total of $35.5 million. ~Alexandra Heilbron
