Two new releases debuted in the top five at the weekend box office, while last week’s top movie, The Croods: A New Age continues to do strong box office during the pandemic — the only film to earn in the millions over the weekend.
The animated comedy The Croods: A New Age, featuring the voices of Nicolas Cage, Catherine Keener and Emma Stone, remained in the top spot at the weekend box office. It took in an additional $4.4 million over the weekend for a two-week total of $20.3 million.
Half Brothers, a comedy/drama about two brothers who go on a road trip, debuted in the second spot at the weekend box office, taking in a total of $720,000.
The comedy/horror Freaky starring Vince Vaughn dropped one spot to third, earning an extra $460,000 for a total of $7.7 million at the domestic box office.
The romantic drama All My Life debuted in fourth place, earning $350,000.
Rounding out the top five was The War with Grandpa starring Robert De Niro and Oakes Fegley. Now in its ninth week, the family film earned an additional $329,359 for a total of $17.6 million. ~Alexandra Heilbron
