The Devil Inside scares its way into the box office

Looks like Agent Ethan Hunt has competition. The graphic thriller The Devil Inside debuted in the top spot this weekend, raking in $35.5 million (all figures U.S.), but received only 2.2 stars out of five from tribute.ca visitors. That means the action flick Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocolstarring Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner, was pushed from first to second place at the box office with $20.5 million and 4.2 stars, still impressive considering it’s been in theaters for four weeks. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows came in third with $14.1 million and 4.2 stars. Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara are still holding on tight to their spot in fourth with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, drawing $11.3 million and a 4.2 star rating. Squeaking by in fifth place is Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, down two spots, with $9.5 million, almost half its earnings from last weekend, although it’s still a hit with tribute.ca viewers who give it 4.3 stars. That rounds up this weekend’s top five films at the box office.

looks creepy but I think word will spread that it’s not as good as the commercials. At least that’s what I’ve been hearing. Wait for the DVD.
