The Garfield Movie captures top spot at weekend box office

The Garfield Movie tops the weekend box officeAfter finishing in second place during its debut last weekend, The Garfield Movie starring the world-famous lasagna-loving cat rose to take the top spot, earning an additional $14 million for a two-week total of $51.6 million.

John Krasinski‘s family friendly comedy IF  starring Ryan Reynolds climbed one spot to second place, earning $10.8 million for a three-week haul of $80.4 million. Click here to read our review.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth slipped two spots to third place, taking in an extra $10.75 million for a two-week total of $49.7 million.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes starring Owen Teague and Kevin Durand held onto fourth place from last weekend, garnering an additional $8.8 million for an impressive four-week take of $140 million. Click here to watch our interview with the stars.

Rounding out the top five again was The Fall Guy starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. The action comedy earned an extra $4.2 million for a five-week total of $80.3 million. Click here to read our review.
