The Perfect Guy debuts strong at weekend box office

The Perfect GuyThis weekend had two strong openings from two new movies. Topping the box office was The Perfect Guy, starring Sanaa Lathan, Morris Chestnut and Michael Ealy. The thriller made an estimated $26.7 million. readers love the film, which many say had them on the edge of their seats. They give it a 4.7 star rating.

Coming in at a very close second was M. Night Shyamalan‘s thriller, The Visit, with $25.7 million. When two children visit their grandparents, they soon discover they’re not your average Grandma and Grandpa. Made for only $5 million, The Visit‘s opening weekend exceeded industry expectations, and marks a badly-needed win for Shyamalan, whose recent films have been failures. readers give the horror flick a 3 star rating with mainly positive reviews.

At a distant third, War Room made $7.4 million. readers love the drama and rate it 4.7 stars.

A Walk in the Woods fell one spot , earning an additional $4.6 million. readers rated it 3.7 stars, calling the Robert Redford and Nick Nolte comedy hilarious, with great scenery.

Last, but not least, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation dropped to number five. This weekend it earned $4.2 million. readers love the action-packed installment, rating it 4.3 stars. ~Sandra D. Sukraj
