The reason for Madonna’s divorce

Madonna and Guy Ritchie‘s marriage has been falling apart for the past year, according to People magazine. The main reasons for the divorce were Madonna’s relationship with New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez, Madonna’s insistence that Ritchie embrace Kabbalah, and her need to be in the spotlight at all times. Ritchie would attend Kabbalah services with his wife and kids, but didn’t describe himself as a follower. He also wanted to live a low key life, which Madonna objected to. “She was more about being a celebrity and he was more low key. He wanted to live in London and live a normal life but that’s impossible when you’re married to Madonna,” a source told the magazine. A friend of Madonna’s agreed, saying, “She was always first when it came to her husband or herself, and that really took a toll on Guy. There was only so much he could put up with.” The source also said the couple disagreed when it came to adopting a baby from Malawi. “From what I understand Guy really didn’t want to adopt David,” says the source. “He felt like they should focus on their marriage because they were having problems then, too. But Madonna insisted. And what Madonna wants, Madonna gets.”
