Faustino Ibarra, 36, has been arrested for stealing Home Improvement actor Tim Allen‘s custom 1996 Chevy Impala SS out of the garage at his Los Angeles home, then driving it to Colorado. However, during an interview with Fox 31 from behind bars in Colorado, Ibarra said he’s actually Allen’s adopted son and that he didn’t actually steal the car. “He’s my dad,” Ibarra said from his jail cell. “I emailed my dad the morning that I got the car in and everything is fine and I’ve got the car and it’s ready for you and we need to talk about me coming to live with you.” According to Allen’s website, the car “holds a DOHC 32-valve Corvette ZR1 engine and delivers 446 hp at 5500 rpm.” Strangely, Allen, who is originally from Denver, did not report the car stolen. Ibarra was arrested after his family found the car parked in front of his house and reported him to police.
