Tim Burton asks fans for help with plot

Director Tim Burton is asking Twitter users to help him write a plot for an upcoming movie. This is how it works — he wrote the first line, which was: “Stainboy, using his obvious expertise, was called in to investigate mysterious glowing goo on the gallery floor.” Then he asked others to add to the story, saying, “Cadavre Exquis or ‘Exquisite Corpse’ is a technique used to collectively tell a story. Each contributor adds to the story in sequence, building on the last line revealed.” The best suggestions, which can be no longer than 127 characters, are posted on Burton’s official site. To give an example of what people are responding, one tweet read, “a small arched doorway. Where could the door lead and why would it be located within a robot? Stainboy crawled inside the robot…” The next one was: “a heart! But that was nonsense, robost don’t have hearts or any vital human organs! So he scratched his eyes and…” This was followed by: “some of that gunk that began to move and took the form of…” Can’t wait to see what his next movie winds up being!

the internet is a terrible place to look for inspiration; it’s all illiterate fan boys and dilettante’s posturing, yapping about crap of which they have no knowledge or education.
