Tobey Maguire pays off poker debt

Tobey Maguire has agreed to pay $80,000 in order to be dropped from a lawsuit. He was one of several Hollywood high rollers sued in connection with an illegal gambling ring after winning $311,200 from Brad Ruderman, CEO of Ruderman Capital Management. Ruderman, who was convicted of investment fraud and wire fraud, was sentenced to 10 years for using more than $25 million of investor funds to pay off his poker debts. Tobey claimed to have won only $187,000 and argued that he’d lost $168,500 to Ruderman over the course of several poker games. Because Tobey confirms he wasn’t aware of Ruderman’s Ponzi scheme to defraud investors, the estate has decided to accept Maguire’s offer as an out-of-court settlement.

If anyone remember me telling people that he would end up paying money back, here we are. Where are the ones that called me names when I said he would?
