Tom Cruise kept Katie away from film set

Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz co-star in the action comedy Knight and Day, and as old friends, they often punch each other when they meet as a joke. However, Cruise had to ask Cameron to stop because he was in so much pain from all the stunts he was doing. “[We would] come up on the set and we’d be like, ‘What’s Up? What’s Up?’ [and punch each other on the arm],” Tom said during an interview with Cameron for ET Online. “Punching and kicking,” Cameron added. “I’d kind of like be playing around, and every once in a while after a long stretch of stunts, Tom would be like, ‘No, no – not today.’ He was too sore!” Though Tom’s wife, Katie Holmes, often came to the set to watch Tom in action, he admits he deliberately kept her away from the set on the days he was shooting the most dangerous scenes, because she was terrified he was going to do himself permanent damage. “She’s used to me doing this stuff; I think there’s times where she’s just like – certain moments like the bull run in Spain – it’s like TMI [too much information] – certain things I’ll tell her afterwards.”
