Raunchy teen comedies all started in Canada with Porky’s, now celebrating its 25th anniversary. To date, Porky’s is the highest grossing Canadian film of all time internationally. Fast Times at Ridgemont High soon followed, launching the careers of Sean Penn and Nicolas Cage. Tom Cruise’s breakthrough role came the following year in Risky Business, when the scene where he lipsyncs to “Old Time Rock n Roll” wearing briefs and sunglasses became a classic. More recently American Pie took North America by storm, grossing over $100 million and spawning two gross-out sequels. Getting back to its roots, Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds struck it big in the BC-filmed Van Wilder, playing the title character whose motto was “Don’t be a fool and wrap your tool.” Click here to see a photo gallery of your favourite raunchy teen comedies.
