Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn second highest opening of 2011

By Alexandra Heilbron on November 21, 2011 | 11 Comments

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 enjoyed the second highest opening of the year, just behind the final instalment of the Harry Potter series, grossing an estimated $139.5 million (all figures U.S.), making it the fifth highest movie opening in box office history, behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2, The Dark Knight, Spider-Man 3, and The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Tribute users enjoyed it, giving it 4 out of 5 stars. The movie, which follows lovers Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) through their marriage and honeymoon, stayed very close to the book written by Stephenie Meyers. Far behind in second place was the animated sequel Happy Feet Two, which pulled in $22 million over the weekend, also scoring 4 stars at tribute.ca. Last week’s box office champ, the action adventure Immortals, dropped to third place, grossing an additional $12.3 million. Adam Sandler‘s comedy Jack and Jill fell two spots to fourth, taking in $12 million. Rounding out the top five was Puss in Boots with $10.7 million for a total take to date of $122 million.

People above the age of 15 who are TWihards are losers. The book is for teens. Peopl in there 30s who are swooning over guys who aren’t even 20 are digusting and should be locked up. I don’t even find either of them hot. This is a media creation that has many bandwagon jumpers. now if you read the books and are a real fan, I can respect that, again if you are bleow the age of 16

That’s quite unjudgemental of you, jenny. You sound like a joy to be around.

I read the book first, then saw the movie and it was awesome!!! I can’t wait for the second part.

I’m sorry there Jenny but Twilight is not for people under 15 its for everyone. Also the actors are actually older then there characters and people love the story. Why would you even care what other people like? I am a fan of the Twilight books and movies and I am 23 years old and definately not a loser! So before you brand everyone who is over 15 that way and basically calling them pedophiles take a look around not everyone whose in there 20’s 30’s are like that. Again we like the story!

I agree with Deb there. You are being very judgemental with that comment. Just because some are like that doesn’t mean all are!
