The Twilight Saga: New Moon grossed $72.7 million on Friday, making it the biggest single opening day in Hollywood history. Over the weekend it earned $140.7 million (all figures U.S.) in North American ticket sales, beating out the original movie, Twilight, which sold $70 million in its first weekend. Only The Dark Knight at $158.4 million and Spider-Man 3 ($151.1 million) had bigger debuts, but both of those were on more screens: 4,366 and 4,252 respectively, compared to 4,024 for New Moon. New Moon has also earned the distinction of having the biggest November opening ever, overtaking $102.7 million set in 2005 by Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire. ~Alexandra Heilbron

i think if they were smart the they should hurry up on eclipse before people start killing there selfs the movies r great and so are the books…
everyone is doing great in the films …
I went to this on the weekend, as part of a birthday celebration for a family member, it was pretty good. A LOT better than the first one!
wow you woman have low standards!!! the acting was terrible jacob and bella are the worst actors ever whatever their real names are who cares lol terrible terrible
i havent saw new moon yet because when i called they were sold out. they said they are sold out til next week or something. i plan on bringing misty to see it next time i get paid.
If the term “make history” means the numbers and the millions of dollars, then yes New Moon certainly made history on its opening weekend!
But other than that it is a huge, massive and enormous dissapointment to all the people who have read the books.. Except for the ages of 12-18 who probably will praise this movie for just seeing Edward or Jacob..
But, all in all, this movie has nothing to show except that all that counts in Hollywood is just making money and nothing more!
Okay haters, New Moon rocked and thats not only going for the box office history thing, but for all fans Twilight the characters do know how to act, and yes their FINE but this movie was better then twilight and i bet the next will be better still. So keep hating they’ll just get more money! Lol
If someone doesn’t like the movie, it necessarily means that is a hater???
I’ve read the books and loved them. New Moon is my favorite of the series and they destroyed it!
So can you please just be objective about it? Some people don’t like New Moon because it’s missing Edward, others like it because they want to see Jacob’s abs. C’mon people! It’s not an Edward or Jacob thing… It’s about the story, the feelings, the love, the passion, the intensity!
Did you see any of this on the film??
