Actor Kellan Lutz — known to Twilight fans as Emmet Cullen — really wanted a part in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of The Hunger Games, according to The Insider. But when he tried to audition, he was told he wasn’t allowed to thanks to his role in the Twilight films. Because both franchises fall under the same Lionsgate/Summit umbrella, studio officials didn’t want any possible crossover between the two series in an attempt to avoid any visible links. The Hunger Games still managed to put together an impressive cast with the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth. The film hits theaters March 23, while The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, the final instalment in the franchise, will be released November 16.
