Usher breaks promise to charity

Usher was one of the celebrities who tweeted their “last tweet & testament” on November 30th in support of Alicia Keys’ charity, Keep a Child Alive. The idea was that each of the celebrities who “sacrified their digital lives” was supposed to stay away from posting on Twitter and Facebook until $1 million was raised. The tally is currently at just under $300,000, but Usher was back on Twitter yesterday at 12:02 a.m. with “Twit fam, I’m whack for being late, I need your help. Twit,Happy Birthday Rico Love!!! He is the man that wrote you ‘There goes my baby’.” That was the first of four tweets on December 5th. The last was for Justin Bieber: “Shout to the lil homie Prince JB in London!!….I hope your keeping em warm out there….see ya soon! URIV.” What do you think? Should Usher have kept his word?

What’s the incentive for people to donate if the celebrities can’t even keep their word? What a joke.

i agree. i cant believe he broke his promise to them, and in such a public way, as if it would go unnoticed?

    What’s the “incentive” to donate?
    uh, the kids maybe?
Aside from proving he’s an idiot, Usher is irrelevant in the long run where it counts here,

    He should be ashamed.

Not only couldn’t he keep his promise but why would these Celebrities request donations for a charity in this manor. I would have gone with some sort of donation matching. Each celeb. matching up to $500,000+ and use twitter and other social media to generate donations.
