Usher’s ex-wife seeking custody of son after near-death accident

Following a pool accident that almost resulted in their five-year-old son’s death, Usher‘s ex-wife has asked for an emergency custody hearing. Usher Raymond V became stuck in a drain at the bottom of a swimming pool while trying to retrieve a toy. He was being watched by his aunt and a maid at the time of the incident, and they both tried unsuccessfully to free him. Contractors who were working at the house dove in and managed to pull the boy out of the pool, then performed CPR. According to police the boy was “conscious, alert and breathing” when paramedics arrived. The R&B singer was not home at the time of the incident, which is why his ex-wife, Tameka Foster, is now seeking full custody of their two sons. Court papers state: “Usher has failed to discuss issues affecting the children with Tameka Raymond and leaves the children with caregivers when he travels around the world for work rather than parenting them himself.” The court papers also state the children have said they’d rather be with their mom than with caregivers. Usher and Tameka married in 2007, but separated two years later. Their divorce was followed by a long legal battle, which awarded Usher primary custody of his two sons. ~Naomi Leanage

Fans of Usher and his fit figure were screaming ‘Yeah!’ Thursday when the singer posted a hot selfie to Snapchat that leaves very little (no pun intended) to the imagination.
It was an accident and could’ve happened when he was present. This is a constant battle with these two, and anything to open the custody battle. He was home when the ambulance arrive, so not far away, probably working.
It is Usher responsibility to take care of his sons. Since he is traveling for work, i think the kids are better off of being with Tameka then the caregrivers. I hope Tameka gets custody of his kids. Usher changed his ways. So that was his fault. i felt sad of what happened to his son Usher jr. But why have kids and you know you can’t take care of them.
Tameka is an old hard back looking SKANK! that is why u should always listen to yo momma she told Usher stay away from that viper TamekASS. She only want the kids so that Usher will have to fork over child support payments to her so she can live the high life she was living off him b4. No talent skank!
She is using this as an excuse to extort money from her very famous ex…..this could have happened with him there and she probably would still have tried to do what she is doing. It is only the kids if she is saying the truth that do not want to be with nanny and aunt while dad works. Usher is going to be a busy man obviously but I imagine his ex will be having her kids babysat sometime as well. There are always two sides to a story. This sounds like a money maker for her. Sorry Usher.
I don’t understand why he has custody – young children should be with their mom. He’s touring and leaving them with caregivers – so they’re not even with their dad much. She should get them, at least until they’re teenagers.
Sometimes the father is the better parent than the mother will ever be. Assuming that a child should be with their mother is very narrow minded. Just because she is a woman doesn’t make her a good mother.
In reading both sides of the complaints and the past public history of the relationship and the parenting styles I can honestly say that Usher is an involved father and even with his career and tight schedules he keeps his children with him. He has not chosen to leave his children in the care of a nanny in his absence. Now, his ex-wife openly omitted that she does travel and when she does she leaves her children with a caretaker. This specific accident in the pool with Usher’s son getting stuck, this as scary as it was could have occurred with Usher home as well. The children had a family member with them at the time not a stranger or nanny. They all acted immediately to rescue the child. This situation could happen to any of us. Usher’s ex-wife sees her children as possession or property that ultimately will bring her more income from Usher that will enable her to travel more and leave her kids with a sitter. Her children even stated in the article that they would rather be with their mother than the caregivers. Important note, parenting and working is the norm for all of us. Just learn that parenting is your responsibility and it should take precedence. Keep your work and your home life separate. Usher fight for your children or they will become lost and grow up to act like some of these other young stars who went crazy. Invest in them now.
Any given day parents who are able to support their kids rich or poor will be summon to calls like this sorry for what happen but being judgemental off the bat look it was a freak accident nobody’s fault it happened but when it comes w a name as in Usher it opens up that door of not being a good parent we all go through things unexpectedly common but as parents we share that responsibilities of being parents being separated has its cause/ faults its not the kids its about money and its a source to who can do it w out problems what i am saying is this kids come w the territory of being in a relationship it doesn’t well it does but w me as long as both parents loves cares supports its all that matter but yet its who has the most money abled to do what the other can’t and hate to put it this way but yet women are the one’s who first to jump on it let the bullets fly aim at what u can get there are great dad’s out there I’m one so is Usher don’t knock the man for doing his job his career and his boy’s peace I’m out
