Warner Bros. plans Justice League

By Tribute on July 16, 2012 | 10 Comments

Following the success of Marvel’s The Avengers, Warner Bros. has announced plans to make DC Comics’ Justice League. The studio originally planned to make the movie back in 2007 with director George Miller. The superhero group was to consist of young, upcoming stars such as Adam Brody as The Flash, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, and Armie Hammer as Batman. Unfortunately, circumstances at the time proved unfavorable mainly due to the 2007-2008 writers’ strike and the fact that Christopher Nolan had already made a Batman movie with Christian Bale as the lead.
If this project becomes a reality, this will give Warner Bros. the opportunity to reboot Batman, as well as give an opportunity for other DC superheroes to get a second chance on the big screen, such as The Green Lantern. Will Beall, screenwriter of Gangster Squad, has already been hired to work on the upcoming film. ~Isabelle Khoo

I’m so sick of all these stupid comic book movies…what about the rest of us who like movies with ORIGINAL storylines and real human beings as lead characters?!?!

I enjoy the Batman movies and Avengers was pretty good as well as the Spider-Man reboot. Even though they’re highly sucecssfull, I’d like to see more realistic dramas, cop VS robber, police chases and that sort of thing. I’m surprised that with the success Sopranos has had on TV, we haven’t seen a ressurgance of mob movies, I’d like that too.

What I’m sick of are all these REBOOTS!! Wtf?? Justice League will bomb if it don’t have Christian Bale as Batman, Ryan Renolds as Green Lantern, Henry Cavill as Superman and now Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man. We still need, Aqua Man (Rumored to be DiCaprio plz lord don’t let it be him), Wonder Woman (Lynn Collins would be perfect), The Flash (Barry Allen or Josh Duhamel Rumored) Green Arrow (Plz pick Scott Adkins) Black Panther (If Michael Jai White doesn’t get the roll WB will be crossed of my books forever) and then we have Hawk Man (played by me of course who else lol) but I’m serious they have a lot of work to do before even considering the JL movie. They need another Green Lantern, Spidey, then the Rumored Superman/Batman movie that Nollan is tied to btw and they need to make sure that some how all these movies tie in and they must stick with the same actors and they must all have end credit scenes like the marvel movies did to fish in the audience. Or else it will bomb or piss fans off enormously. Now in regards to the Drama Queens. Watch Batman and then tell me if you don’t have a good movie watch Ledger play the Joker and tell me that’s not good acting. If you don’t want to watch a MEGA BLOCK BUSTER AVATARish MOVIE THEN STICK TO WAR HORSE or you MEGA CRY CHICK FLICKS but don’t pick on our MEGA BLOCK BUSTER HERO movies that inspire many people to have hero hearts (Something this nation is lacking)

And yes I agree we need to start a Mob genre all over again lol. Great idea 🙂

@Sham, Germain, & Suneagle-Who the frack asked you losers to comment on this? You’ve all already got a ton of movies in the genres you asked about, they’re just being produced independently Why not go and seek them out instead of bitching about these ones being made?

Suneagle, why did you keep mentioning Spiderman with the rest of the DC crew?
But really, Marvel took a while to start making better comic book movies. DC started quick with the first Nolan Batman movie. Then, even Superman was a valiant effort in the way it was filmed and such. Too bad DC didn’t have Marvel’s forsight in planning. They could have signed better contracts with actors and directors and got the ball rolling for a JL movie. Marvel gets props for being first and spending the money and making all the movies have tie-ins and getting the Avengers filmed and totally rockin! I gotta say I loved it.

Now let’s see how Zak Snyder does with Superman. Then as far as I’m concerned they have Bale and Reynolds and Cavill already, introduce the rest in the movie if you like and THEN see if they should have spin off films.

Reynolds was just so campy as Green Lantern and Bale so brooding as Batman I can’t see those two jiving in any way, shape or form on screen.

All the Marvel movies (think the original Iron Man) have always had that touch of wittiness and taking themselves lightly, and that common theme allowed them to mesh fantastically for the Avengers.

For the couple of idiot posters here, Avengers is now the 2nd highest domestic (US) grossing movie of all time, second only to Cameron’s Avatar. So, cheers!

@ Fantomex Who the hell are you to call me a loser?? I can comment on anything I want and say whatever I want, your comment drives that point home. As for the movies, I see indie films, I don’t just watch blockbusters and popcorn movies. Name 5 good mob movie that came out in the last 5 years, you know what, just name one.
