Who will be cast in The Bodyguard remake?

Warner Bros. is remaking its 1992 hit The Bodyguard, which starred Kevin Costner as Whitney Houston’s bodyguard and grossed  $411 million worldwide. The original story was about a Secret Service agent who falls in live with a singer whom he’s been hired to protect from a stalker. In the new version, the bodyguard will be an Iraq war veteran straight out of the Army. Twitter, Google Maps and TMZ make his job extremely difficult, as the public has more access to celebrities than ever before.

The lead roles have not yet been cast, and though Beyoncé is considered a shoo-in for the singer, it’s believed she won’t take it on, because she’s already committed to the remake of A Star is Born, directed by Clint Eastwood.

Rihanna is being considered, as are Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, but we’re hoping Rashida Jones will be thrown into the mix. She has more acting experience and as the daughter of Quincy Jones, she has the singing ability to pull the role off as well.

Although there’s been no mention of who might take on the lead male role, we’re thinking Channing Tatum.
