Elton John recently admitted during an interview with UK GQ that he hasn’t seen the critically acclaimed movie, Bohemian Rhapsody.
The 2018 Freddie Mercury biopic was a huge box office hit and went on to win four Oscars, including one for the star of the film, Rami Malek.
Elton was asked by GQ writer Dylan Jones if there had been any pressure on him to have Rocketman, the 2019 movie musical based on his life, to get a PG rating like Bohemian Rhapsody had.
He answered, “I have to say, Paramount was incredibly on our side. There was talk about the PG thing, but I said I can’t tell my life like that.”
Elton added that he hadn’t seen Bohemian Rhapsody because it would have been too difficult, having been a close friend. “I couldn’t watch it because I’m so close to Freddie. I’ve seen snippets of it and I thought that Rami Malek was fantastic, but being Freddie’s dearest friend, I couldn’t watch it.”

George Clooney leads the list of celebrities boycotting Brunei-owned luxury hotels. This comes in the wake of new punishments being enforced in the country.
I wanted to know why, and now I do. Title tease. I loved Bohemian Rhapsody, and just recently saw Rocket man. It got better, and had a good ending. I usually watch a whole movie to give it a fair chance to know if I like it or not.I am glad that the article was positive. I can still like Elton and Queen. Even though, he can have his own opinion.
Hi again. Sorry, but I wanted to add one more thing. I am sure that Elton just needs time to be able to watch the movie. Then when he is ready, will have the memories of the good things, and not the hurt right now.
Knowing a major part of FREDDIE MERCURY and his origins while growing, BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY is NOT a movie —– it is a DOCUMENTARY !! It did not have the thrills, the spills, the adventure, the suspense, the anxiety and other ingredients that go into making a movie. I knew his lifestyle, and RAMI MALEK just portrayed him in a documentary. On the other hand, again how can ROCKETMAN be called a Movie, when ELTON JOHN is still alive ? Being still alive, he simply should have acted himself in the Movie !
OMG! Went on a cruise this year and saw the movie FIVE times. The movie made the whole cruise bearable. Would like to see it many more.
