The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and his bride, Kate Middleton, attended last night’s London premiere of  Steven Spielberg’s War Horse. As the royal couple stepped out of the car, there were aides holding umbrellas to shield them from the rain, but Will turned the offer down, then took the umbrella shielding Kate, who looked elegant in a full length gown by Alice Temperley, as they walked together down the red carpet. Fans shouted out ‘Happy Birthday’ to Kate, who celebrates her 30th birthday today. Once inside, the royals stopped to chat and shake hands with each cast member as well as director Steven Spielberg. Will was then offered a copy of the book ‘War Horse’ and Kate was given flowers. After the screening, they hosted a champagne reception at Buckingham Palace for The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry, which provides aid to disadvantaged young people and those in the Armed Forces, as well as building growing awareness of the conservation of resources and the natural environment.
