Will Smith in talks for sequels

Will Smith is reportedly in talks to for sequels of both Hancock and I Am Legend, according to the New York Post. An insider told the paper: “He is ready to do both. Producers are just trying to get Charlize Theron to sign on for the Hancock sequel.” In the case of I Am Legend, the new film will be a prequel rather than a sequel. The source says, “It will be about how the disease spreads and the fall of the last great American city. It will also develop the relationship between Will’s character and his wife.” Smith’s rep confirms: “There have been talks about both of these projects.” His new film, Seven Pounds, opens this Friday in theaters.

Hancock just sucked, but I am Legend was pretty good. I don’t think they should make any sequels or prequels for either movies. But I guess money talks, since both movies made more 200M.

I haven’t enjoyed any of his movies for awhile, although I do think he seems like a likeable guy. I hated I am Legend and disliked Pursuit even more, could barely sit through it. His new one will be a huge pass for me too. But he apparently is one of the highest paid actors and his movies do bring in the bucks, so Nasir money does talk, right, in the movie business, without a doubt.

I love Will Smith, but I do wish they’d offer up better movies for him.
