William Shatner took to twitter yesterday when he learned of his former co-star Justin Mentell’s death. Mentell, 27, played Garrett Wells on the drama series Boston Legal opposite Shatner during the 2005 to 2006 season. He was found dead Monday near his crashed Jeep, which had apparently had gone off the road, down a steep embankment and hit two trees in rural Wisconsin. He was not wearing a seat belt. “I’m deeply saddened to hear about Justin Mentell,” Shatner wrote on Twitter. “There’s no telling how far up the ladder he may have climbed. My sympathies to his family.” Mentell’s latest screen appearance was with Nicolas Cage in the motion picture G-Force.
