Witness suggests Robert Wagner responsible for Natalie Wood death

The investigation surrounding Natalie Wood’s drowning have been reopened. Dennis Davern, the captain of the yacht she was on when she disappeared is now saying he believes her husband, Robert Wagner, who has always claimed Natalie drowned, murdered her. Davern has co-authored a book called “Goodbye Natalie, Goodbye Splendour,” with Marti Rulli, who has given Sheriff’s investigators supporting documents used for the book following Davern’s request last year to reopen the case. According to TMZ, the Sheriff is so impressed he’s assigned two full-time homicide detectives to investigate. On the Today show this morning, Davern admitted he lied on a police report when the drowning happened, and said that he thinks Wager was responsible for Natalie’s death. He says just before Natalie drowned, Wagner became enraged when he saw their guest, Christopher Walken, talking to Natalie. Wagner smashed a wine bottle, yelling at him, “What do you want to do, f**k my wife?  Is that what you want?” Walken excused himself and went to his room for the night. Wagner and Natalie went to their room, but Davern heard loud arguing, then a thumping sound, then silence. A short while later, Wagner came to him saying Natalie was missing, but he refused to let Davern call the coast guard. At the time, Coroner’s officials ruled her death an accidental drowning, on the premise that she could have slipped off the side of the boat boat while trying to tie down a dinghy, which had been banging against the hull. However, she was deathly afraid of water and her sister, Lana, says she would never have gone near the dinghy by herself at night — she would have asked the captain to tie it down. When asked on the Today show if the fight between Wagner and Natalie was what led to her death, Davern replied, “Yes.”

It’s about time he paid for his crime. Since I heard about this, I had a feeling he did it. I even read his autobiography, hoping there would be a reasonable explanation of what happened that night and that it would make me stop suspecting him… but it didn’t. He killed her, I have no doubt about that.

Extremely rare that a husband or wife for that matter, even thinks of getting mad(unless there’s a heck of a good reason to be), because his wife/girlfriend is simply talking to someone else! We all talk to each other. But to get that far over the top and carry out angry thoughts against someone(and turn it physical), when they don’t know that your thinking this is beyond normalcy. Normal, thoughtful and considerate people just Don’t do that. You know when he broke the wine bottle.

I never in a month of Sundays would suspect him at 1st. But I don’t know why but I suspected him later and dismissed it because I Adored him. I didn’t see any anger issues coming from him. Wow! Now that it’s been explained different, I suspect him too. But just because someone is jealous and extra angry doesn’t mean he did anything except yelling at her. What a waste of Energy of his and her Life to get angry for absolutely Nothing! Could have been doing Positive Happy things together instead!

I’ve read a bit about it as well and he suspected Natalie and Walken were having an affair. They were working on a film together out of town at the time and Wagner was stuck in L.A. because he was filming Hart to Hart. They had a weekend off from the film and that’s when this happened.

Innocent until proven guilty. And I doubt he killed her over an argument. Not only that, but I doubt two good looking people like that woul get jealous enough to kill over, when they could simply get a Hollywood quicky divorce and move on.

The credibility of someone who wants to make a profit from book sales is suspect, on the other hand there will always be suspicion. Only two people knew what really happened one is dead, the other is either telling the truth or not. There is no way to really know.

What do looks have to do with it? When emotions are running high, looks and money aren’t a factor. “I don’t think I’ll kill you since we both look so good”…please….
