Woman sues Justin Bieber for $9.2 million

Justin Bieber is being sued for $9.2 million for damaging the ears of a woman who attended his concert with her daughter. Stacey Betts, a mother from Oregon, claims her ears were injured in a sound blast when she attended the young singer’s concert in Portland in July 2010. She now suffers from tinnitus, which is ringing of the ears, and hyperacusis, which is hypersensitivity to sound. Betts says that at the concert, Bieber climbed into a heart-shaped gondola that was pulled over the crowd. She claims that the sound blast was then caused by Bieber when he “enticed the crowd into a frenzy of screams by continuously waving his arms in a quick and upward motion,” creating a “wave-like effect of screaming.” This sound blast is what she believes caused permanent damage to both her ears. Although Betts says Bieber was the “sound conductor” of the blast, she is also suing Bieber’s label, Island Def Jam Music Group; the concert promoter; and the arena for “loss of quality of life, severe tinnitus, hyperacusis and permanent disability and impairment to both of her ears.” ~Isabelle Khoo

I thought I was stupid, this woman is a lot more stupid!

Okay she has to be stupid or something. If she’s the only person who was damaged, then obviously JB is not to blame. If more people had the same issues, then yea I could see that but one person in the whole crowd? lmao She’s just grasping at straws for a bit of money. Honestly these days people will try anything.

Really, Stacey Betts? Really? Should have bought some ear plugs, huh?

Why is everyone and their mother (ha ha!) trying to sue this guy?

As sad and ridiculous as it is…she’ll probably win some sort of settlement…even though we all know how loud concerts can get…watch for the warning labels on all concert tickets now…

That’s the dumbest story I have ever heard. There is such a thing as tinnitus, but it’s caused by a prolonged exposure to a high decibel sound, sometimes years of it. It does not happen over a couple of hours or unless a trauma to the ear drum happen. In this instance, why would other people not be suffering from it if that was the case?

If this women wins it will be the end of big arena concerts and bands doing world tours, in favor of more controled smaller shows. Ticket proces will skyrocket as less seating will be availabe.

She must be short a few cards in her deck if she thinks she can win, and she must of found herself one desperate lawyer in need of serious billing hours!

$9.8Million… the loss of quality of life… permanent disability… attended his concert with her daughter… wave-like effect of screaming…

My “life” insurance policy is for $500,000.00. That’s what my family would received if I “DIE”. Poor Stacey Betts wants $9,800,000.00 from Bieber for losing her hearing by attending his concert because the crowd was screaming too loud? HAHAHHAHA.

I’ll put my ‘bets’ that poor Stacey Betts was also screaming so loud that she popped her ear drums and lost her hearing.

    Moron.

    Vayne, love it lol!

Litigation in the US is wildly out of control, like the nonsense over the recent incident in Florida involving the lifeguard. If Stacey Betts thinks her hearing (or sadly even her life, as Vayne said) is worth $9.8M, she’s straight up crazy.

Desperate and pathetic are the first words that come to mind. Anyway who goes to a concert and DOESN’T expect it to be so loud your ears are ringing when you leave is stupid. Granted for most the ringing stops, she obviously had some underlying problems that this brought to the surface. If she wins, I’ll be completely shocked.

This woman should be sued for having no taste in music.

Welcome to the lime-light Justin… Pathetic

Are you frigging kidding me? People really do sue each other for anything and everything now….pathetic.

LOL. If she damaged her ears from a Justin Bieber concert I’d like to see what would happen at an AC/DC concert

GERMAIN Tinnitus (play /tɪˈnaɪtəs/ or /ˈtɪnɪtəs/; from the Latin word tinnītus meaning “ringing”) is the perception of sound within the human ear in the absence of corresponding external sound. Tinnitus may be an accompaniment of sensorineural hearing loss or congenital hearing loss, or it may be observed as a side effect of certain medications. However, the most common cause is noise-induced hearing loss.

i woke up mostly deaf for no apparent reason one day, no one has any explanation, theres no damage, no anything. i suffer from tinnitus as well, therefore YES this concert MAY HAVE ruined this ONE womans hearing for life. do i feel bad for her? yes i do, do i believe she deserves to get rich because she chose to go to a concert and risk her hearing? no i do not.

Link exchange is nothing else but it is just placing the other person’s web site link on your page at
suitable place and other person will also do similar in favor of you.
