Women with real breasts needed for Depp movie

pirates_of_the_caribbeanDisney sent out a casting call last week looking for women for their upcoming movie Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, directed by Rob Marshall and starring Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. The casting call is looking for: “beautiful female fit models. Must be 5ft7in-5ft8in, size 4 or 6, no bigger or smaller. Age 18-25. Must have a lean dancer body. Must have real breasts. Do not submit if you have implants.” They warn that there will be a “show and tell” day in which potential actresses will have to undergo a jiggle-and-jog test for the casting agents. If nothing moves from the waist up, they’ll know the woman has implants, and she will be asked to leave. According to the Sunday Times of London, the filmmakers say the bouncier the better, especially for the sword-fighting scenes. One more thing — the movie is being shot in Hawaii and all actresses who pass the jiggle test will be asked whether they can swim and dive. The movie is set for a May 2011 release.

isn’t this a family movie, and they want jiggling breasts to be bouncing around during sword fights. Who cares if they are real or fake, if they can act and would be good for the part hire them!

didn’t think they can make those kind of provisions, imagine a restaurant that only hired based on those criteria, isn’t that a form of discrimination? lol oh wells more giggly the better lmao

    In reference to Puttputt:

They kind of need to be that discriminatory. Anyone with certified can hand you food, not everyone can be a disgruntled black woman who isn’t taller than the star, a movie requires specifics sometimes. In this case it’s a young woman of a certain size, who will most likely have some clevage showing and won’t have obvious implants (non-jiggle) pulling people away, and making stupid criticism (‘boobs weren’t real, they didn’t have implants at that time!’ you know some of you do it, confess!) Plus this is what they call general audience movie, where they work under specific detailed guidelines of what falls under what rating (ridiculous, much?) It’s all a cash grab, when investing so much.

Theres nothing uncommon about this. When ppl are casting they look for something specific. so there gonna tell you what they want, and not waste ppl’s times who might think they have a shot.

The show and tell should be funny, I bet there will be a few casting agents walking funny by the end of it!

  14. revolver • March 25, 2010 @ 8:30 AM

they should turn the casting call into a TV show, this would get really high ratings – American’s Top Boob

  15. Birdman36 • March 25, 2010 @ 10:39 AM

It doesn’t specify which cup size? B,C,D or DD?

  16. jjones • March 25, 2010 @ 12:25 PM

I agree with Mathue, they sometimes require specifics. To be true to the times, how can they justify putting in the balloon boobs when that didn’t exist. I also kind have to give the a thumbs up because it is sending the message “natural is better” and maybe society needs to see more of that to really get it – be yourself, love yourself, etc. Way to go Disney.

As far as the rating, usually implants means much bigger, so asking for natural may mean less R-rated than people are picturing.

I wish the casting crew ALL THE LUCK they can muster, given the lack of phisicality in the
life styles of the average female in that age group. They will need it. As far as the concept, its absolutley bang on. Should be a standerd of all casting calls. I’m personaly done with the silicone sisters . I’ll admit I was taken at first. But too much can be aukward,& unessary at times. And the wiegh belt’s would drive up the budget, ya no bouancy….

Um… It’s (sort of)a period film, breast implants are anachronistic…

lol…. i enjoyed a good chuckle when i read that….. i say thats great for o-naturel or is ah……naturel…… i say that took some balls for that call, congrats. here! here!! for us real women..!

  20. Nat • March 27, 2010 @ 1:00 PM

lol this is funny & im having trouble believing it.

  21. preciouslady • March 29, 2010 @ 1:25 PM

Is this not Disney or is this Playboy bad publicity for that Movie real women’s breasts some times dont bounce they sometimes a perfect size C and firm… and Im very proud of that….

  22. MJ • March 29, 2010 @ 4:51 PM

I agree with jjones – this is obviously Disney’s way of influencing the media’s obsession with the unrealistic – fake barbie’s need not apply!

Besides, most of you may not know this, but the period piece uses corsets, and it is OBVIOUS when someone with implants wears one – the silouette is different, the cleavages lines are different, etc. Imagine if kieran was surrounds by implants. It would look REALLY funny. As a period piece, kudos to them for trying to be authentic!
