Amber Heard biography

Amber Heard’s interest in a life of stardom began at a young and tender age. Born in Austin, Texas, as a teenager Amber performed in various school productions and took on local commercial roles. At the age of 16, when her best friend died in a car accident, she decided to turn her back on her Catholic upbringing and become agnostic. Dropping out of high school at the age of 17, Amber moved to New York City to try her hand at modelling and less than a year later, moved to Los Angeles to start a career in acting. She soon landed guest spots on TV shows such as Jack & Bobby, The O.C. and The Mountain.
Amber made her feature film debut in 2004 in Friday Night Lights, starring Billy Bob Thornton. Other movie roles soon followed. She was cast in Alpha Dog, Pineapple Express, The Stepfather and Zombieland.
In 2007, she was cast in a starring role in The CW series Hidden Palms, playing Greta Matthews and she also starred in the 2011 TV series The Playboy Club, which received controversy from groups such as The Parents Television Council. Although Heard defended the show by arguing that it portrayed the women as trailblazers, the series was short lived and believed by critics to be melodramatic and badly written. She most recently starred in horror flick All the Boys Love Mandy Lane(2013), in action flick Machete Kills(2013)alongside Danny Trejo and Sofia Vergara and in the thriller 3 Days to Kill (2014). She also played supporting roles in Magic Mike XXL (2015) and The Danish Girl (2015).
In 2011, Amber starred opposite Johnny Depp in The Rum Diary. Despite having announced she was a lesbian at GLAAD’s 25th anniversary celebration in 2010, and revealing that her romantic partner of several years was Tasya van Ree, she began dating Depp. He broke off his longterm relationship with Vanessa Paradis, the mother of his two children, to be with Amber and they were married February 3, 2015.
On May 22, 2016, Amber Heard filed for divorce after one year and three months of marriage.
Since then, she has appeared as Mera in the blockbuster film, Justice League (2017).
