Born in St. Louis Missouri, Annalise is the youngest child of Marcia and Louis J. Basso. Her older siblings, Gabriel Basso (The Kings of Summer) and Alexandria Basso (Alice Upside Down), are also both actors.
Annalise has been acting since she was eight years old, making her feature film debut in horror flick Ghost Image (2007). She followed this up with a guest spot on the popular night-time soap opera Desperate Housewives in 2008, as well as a small role in the fantasy comedy Bedtime Stories (2008) starring Adam Sandler and Keri Russell.
The next year was a big one for the young performer, who earned herself mainstream success with her guest role as Eden Hamby on the HBO smash hit series True Blood. She kept up the momentum well into 2009 by appearing in the TV movie Love Takes Wing, the Fox crime drama Lie to Me, the supernatural horror feature Dark House, and the coming-of-age drama Alabama Moon (2009).
Annalise continued working mostly in television over the next few years, guest starring on shows such as Bones, Parks and Recreation and New Girl. In 2013, the talented actress earned her first lead role in the independent coming-of-age drama Standing Up. In the film, she plays Grace, a young girl who decides to go on the run with her friend Howie (played by Chandler Canterbury). She then picked up another starring role in the horror Oculus (2014), followed by a recurring role on the Sundance Channel drama series The Red Road.
The year 2016 saw Annalise score some of her highest-profile roles yet — Vespyr in the critically-acclaimed dramedy Captain Fantastic alongside Viggo Mortensen and Paulina in the horror Ouija: Origin of Evil opposite Elizabeth Reaser and Henry Thomas.

In an interview with Issue Magazine, the young actress said her dream collaborators would include directors Alejandro G. Iñárritu and David Lynch, and Doctor Strange (2016) star Benedict Cumberbatch.
Although Annalise's career is just starting out, when asked by Cinemit.com what advice she would give to other young actors, she said, "There definitely is a lot of sacrifice, and you have to give up a lot. But you just have to keep going, have to try your best."
