Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Lindsay Duncan trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama before embarking upon a career on the stage. She has won many prestigious awards for her work in theater, including two Olivier Awards and a Tony Award.
Lindsay appeared in many TV series and movies before making her feature film debut in 1985 in Loose Connections opposite Stephen Rea. Recently, she appeared in Le Week-End, for which she won a 2013 British Independent Award for Best Actress, as well as Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016).
Her latest project is the drama Gifted (2017), which stars Chris Evans.
She is married to fellow Scots actor Hilton McRae. They have a son together.
