Mary Lambert Biography

MARY LAMBERT

This Arkansas native hit the ground running in 1984 with her first big gig directing Madonna's breakout video, Like a Virgin. The two remained good friends to this day, and have collaborated on half a dozen videos since.

Lambert's first foray into film, Prince's Under the Cherry Moon(1986), didn't turn out well. She was axed mid-way through the production when Prince decided to take over the director's chair himself. But the dismissal was not a bad omen because Lambert landed a stint with Stephen King's Pet Sematary, and has embraced the horror/thriller genre ever since.

Besides film, Lambert has worked in television on such productions as the series Tales from the Crypt, and television movies, Face of Evil (1996) and My Stepson, My Lover (1997).
