ZOEY DEUTCH

Date of Birth: November 10, 1994

Los Angeles-bred Zoey Deutch was born into '80s movie royalty: her mother is actress Lea Thompson, star of Back to the Future and Some Kind of Wonderful, and her father is Howard Deutch, director of the seminal teen flick Pretty in Pink. It’s only natural Zoey would gravitate to the arts at a young age, excelling in ballet, jazz and tap as a child. She eventually double majored in both theater and visual arts at the Los Angeles County School for the Arts, while at the same time studying at the Young Actors Space.

Zoey started her career off in television as a recurring character by the name of Maya in the Disney Channel Original series The Suite Life on Deck. She then landed her first leading film role in the indie flick Mayor Cupcake in 2011, playing real-life mom Lea Thompson's daughter. Her biggest break to that point came when she earned a small part in the blockbuster The Amazing Spider-Man(2012). Her scene was cut from the movie, but can be seen in the DVD extras.

The young actress then appeared in a few television shows in 2011, including a guest starring role on NCIS and Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, as well as a lead role on the unaired ABC pilot Hallelujah. Her first major primetime TV role came later that year on the CW’s Ringer, alongside Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Sarah Michelle Gellar. Zoey starred in all 18 episodes, until the show's cancellation in 2012. Next she landed a supporting part in the fantasy romance film Beautiful Creatures (2013), a starring role in the teen fantasy horror Vampire Academy (2014), and a part in the comedy Dirty Grandpa alongside Zac Efron and Robert De Niro.

Her most recent films include the dramedy Everybody Wants Some (2016), the comedy Good Kids (2016), the crime thriller Vincent-N-Roxxy (2016), the comedy Why Him? (2016) with James Franco, and the mystery drama Before I Fall (2017) with Jennifer Beals. She also starred in the J.D. Salinger biopic Rebel in the Rye (2017) and the indie Flower (2018).

Zoey played a starring role as Harper in the Netflix comedy Set It Up (2018), then joined the cast of the horror comedy sequel Zombieland: Double Tap (2019), which also stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone.

Since October 2017, she has been in a relationship with Dylan Hayes.
