Breckin Meyer

Date of Birth: May 7, 1974

Breckin Meyer was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was raised in Los Angeles. He started acting at age 11, appearing in numerous commercials and television shows. He also did voice-overs for the syndicated cartoon series "Potato Head Kids" as well as the animated feature film, American Tail.

Meyer went to grade school with Drew Barrymore and attended Beverly Hills Highschool with Alicia Silverstone, Josh Miller, and Brandon Williams. It was Barrymore who introduced Meyer to her agent, after which he started doing commercials. After being accepted to California State University at Northridge, Meyer decided to put school on hold and pursue acting. He has always wanted to be a kindergarten teacher, and may return to that dream in the future.

Meyer is also an accomplished musician. He was the drummer/singer for the band Streetwalking Cheetas. The band recorded two albums before he left to make his own band, Bellyroom, with Seth Green and Alex Martin. They played a few gigs around L.A. in 1996. Currently he doesn't play in any band, but is concentrating on his film career, which includes starring roles in Kate & Leopold (2001) with Hugh Jackman, Herbie Fully Loaded (2005) with Lindsay Lohan and Rebound (2005) with Martin Lawrence. He has also starred in several TV series, including the NBC sitcom Inside Schwartz for the 2001/2 season and the ABC sitcom Married to the Kellys during the 2003/4 season.

Meyer married longtime girlfriend, screenwriter Deborah Kaplan, on October 14, 2001. Their daughter, Caitlin Willow, was born December 31, 2003.
