Gabrielle Miller biography
The Adventure Club
Date of Birth: November 9, 1973
Born in Vancouver, B.C. to a family with five siblings, Gabrielle Miller grew up in a "hippie" family, hence her middle name, Sunshine. She meditated every morning with her father and is a lifelong vegetarian. She took her first acting class at the age of eight and was hooked. She trained at the Breck Academy of the Performing Arts in North Vancouver.
In an effort to help with the family income, Gabrielle, then 17, and her mother began their own house cleaning business called Have Broom Will Travel. The mother-daughter pair rode their bicycles to houses, but they both knew she wanted to do more with her life.
Gabrielle began her professional acting career shortly afterwards playing opposite Joshua Jackson in Digger. She played roles in numerous television movies, shows and independent films before her big break came when she was cast as Lacey Burrows in the hit Canadian comedy television show Corner Gas. In 2005 and 2006, she won back-to-back Leo Awards for Best Performance or Host in a Music, Comedy or Variety Program or Series and shared a 2007 Gemini Award with the rest of the cast. She simultaneously starred in another television series called Robson Arms, playing the character Bobbi Briggs, which credited her with another Leo Award in 2007 for Best Supporting Performance by a Female in a Dramatic Series.
Since Corner Gas came to an end in 2009, Gabrielle starred alongside Amanda Crew and Glee's Cory Monteith in the Canadian film Sisters & Brothers (2011), before taking on a regular role as Melody Gray in the TV series Call Me Fitz, alongside Jason Priestley. She also stars alongside Will Sasso, Gabriel Hogan and Victor Garber in the Canadian comedy film Moving Day (2012).
