Date of Birth: October 5, 2006

Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Jacob Tremblay landed his first screen acting role at the age of six on an episode on the NBC TV series Motive, filmed in his hometown.

Jacob made his feature film debut in The Smurfs 2 (2013), playing the role of Blue.

He also played the lead in the short film The Magic Ferret in 2013.

Jacob made a big spash in 2015, with starring roles in the horror film Before I Wake opposite Kate Bosworth and Thomas Jane and in the drama Room , opposite Brie Larson. Room screened at the Toronto International Film Festival before opening in theatres.

Jacob has won a number of awards from film festivals around the world for his portrayal as Jack in Room , including a Canadian Screen Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role.

He also played starring roles in Shut In (2016) and The Book of Henry (2017), co-starring with Naomi Watts in both of those, as well as playing parts in Burn Your Maps (2016) opposite Vera Farmiga, the animated film Ozzy (2017), and the drama Wonder (2017) with Julia Roberts.

Back in Canada, Jacob worked with Quebec director Xavier Dolan on the set of his drama The Death and Life of John F. Donovan (2018), which also starred Jessica Chastain, Natalie Portman, Kit Harington, Susan Sarandon and Kathy Bates.

Jacob also appeared in the sci-fi action film The Predator (2018) alongside Boyd Holbrook, who played his father.

In 2019, Jacob headlined the raunchy comedy Good Boys , about adolescent boys who are anything but good. He has also completed work on Doctor Sleep (2019), an adaptation of Stephen King's novel of the same title, which also stars Ewan McGregor, Rebecca Ferguson and fellow Canadian Bruce Greenwood.
