John Slattery was born in the Boston area and raised in Newton, Massachusetts, just a short drive from Boston. In 1984, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Catholic University of America, located in Washington, D.C. Although he once dreamed of being a baseball player, John moved to New York City to pursue a career in acting.
